Books
Books are one of the ways I extend my journey of soul and Spirit into the lives of others. They allow me to share stories, practices, and insights that have emerged from decades of work as a pastor, guide, and companion on the path of transformation. While workshops and mentoring offer the immediacy of presence, books carry the conversation forward in a slower, more reflective way. They can be returned to again and again, each time offering something new as your journey unfolds.
Finding Your Wild
My most recent book, Finding Your Wild, is both an invitation and a guide. It calls readers to reawaken their innate wholeness and rediscover the untamed vitality of the human soul. Culture has trained many of us to tame or suppress the parts of ourselves that are most alive. We learn to hide our longings, silence our creativity, and diminish our capacity for joy. This book encourages readers to break free from those constraints and step into the adventure of their True Self.
Readers have described Finding Your Wild as magical and practical at the same time. Morgan McKenna wrote, “You could read a hundred books on transformation and not get what Finding Your Wild offers in just a few short chapters.” Belden Lane, author of The Great Conversation: Nature and the Care of the Soul, called it “a good introduction to how Bill Plotkin and others point the way forward” in the essential work of rewilding the soul.
This book is available through Amazon and other retailers, and I often use it as a companion text in workshops and retreats.
Being Here: Mindfulness and the Practice of Presence
Before Finding Your Wild, I wrote Being Here: Mindfulness and the Practice of Presence. This book is rooted in a simple but profound question: What if we were fully present to the world around us, alive to its intelligence, and awake to its invitation? Drawing on the parables of Jesus, my pastoral experience, and contemplative practice, this book offers practical tools for cultivating presence in everyday life.
The first edition of Being Here sold out, and I am preparing a second edition for release soon. This book has been especially meaningful for those seeking to integrate spirituality into their daily routines in ways that feel authentic, grounded, and profoundly transformative.
Recommended Reading for the Journey
In addition to my own writing, I often encourage participants in mentoring, rewilding weekends, and the Deep Masculine Journey to explore the works that have shaped me. These include Bill Plotkin’s Wild Mind and The Journey of Soul Initiation, Richard Rohr’s The Universal Christ and Immortal Diamond, Robert Bly and Marion Woodman’s The Maiden King, Belden Lane’s The Great Conversation, and Robert Johnson’s We. Each of these authors has provided insight into the work of soul encounter, initiation, and authentic living.
